The first entry in this franchise was a must-play on the Nintendo DS. It was one of those rare games that was purpose-built for the dual screen, touch control format. I loved that game.
This sequel didn’t sink its rusty claws into me as deeply as its predecessor, but it was an enjoyable iteration on the original formula. Image & Form managed to balance the power curve to near perfection, and it surprised me how every element came together.
This was an Xbox Game Pass playthrough, so put another ragged chalk mark in the “got my money’s worth” column. The narrative conclusion to Dig 2 has me interested enough in the follow-ups Steamworld Heist and Steamworld Build to install them and poke around.
