Longlegs

The viral campaign that advertised this film was better than the film itself.

Having only a few days prior re-watched Demme’s The Silence of the Lambs I half hoped, half expected this movie to carry the same tone. It did not.

It has some very beautiful cinematography. There is tension in the way the camera moves and frames the action. The lead actress does exceptional work portraying mental damage. For me it was the “twist” that fell the flattest. I suspect this movie would have done better as a traditional procedural without all the other... stuff... shoehorned in, but I’d have to sit down and write it out for myself to see, and I really don’t have the time for that.
