My thoughts on the Old Testament –Ed.
426 days. That’s how long it took me to read the Holy Bible from start to finish (the New Testament only occupied 64 of those days, which should give you some idea of the content disparity between the two). I read the entire thing aloud in five to ten-minute sessions every time I went to the toilet. The process may have been sacreligious, but it was how I did it.
The Book deserves far more than whatever treatment I could give it in one my reviews. I need to read it again, and take more diligent notes. But I can say that I’ve read it, the whole thing, and I now have a basic understanding of the underpinnings of Judaism and Christianity.
I remain undecided on either religion. According to what I’ve just read, that makes me persona non grata to anyone who follows the Law. I’m okay with this. I’ve lived for five decades without it mattering, and I think I can go a little longer before I make a serious decision.
Next up, the Qur’an.
