Wolfsbane

I’ll write this up because I have a few minutes between my morning ablutions and the end of a dryer cycle containing my only bathtowel. As I sweat into the mesh of my Herman Miller Aeron, I think about Guy Haley's entry into the Horus Heresy and find that I enjoyed this one more than most. Haley brought the towering figure of Leman Russ, glorious sci-fi Nord leader of the animalistic and inestimable Space Wolves, down to a comprehendable scale.

As always with my reviews I try to give little away and simply present how I felt about a book. I felt good about this one. The trouble with making an actual recommendation is that my personal enjoyment of any of the stories in the Heresy are contingent on two major factors:

  1. I really get off on Warhammer 40,000.
  2. I've consumed every previous book.

Your mileage is going to depend on how heavy your own tickmarks are in those two checkboxes. And besides, it’s not my place to make a recommendation. I don’t even know you.
