The Anarchist’s Workbench

Paul Sellers, Frank Klaus, Rob Cosman, Rex Krueger, and the author of this book, Christopher Schwarz, are the names that anyone interested in hand tool woodworking should search.

Their YouTube videos are excellent, but in the interest of avoiding falling into any time-distorting black holes I’m trying not to recommend visiting that site if you can avoid it. Their blogs and websites are better, and their books the best sources of knowledge.

This book is free. It’s not just about building a workbench. Mr. Schwarz is an excellent writer who got his start in journalism, and his talent with words shines on every page of this volume.

When I’m ready to talk more about my own journey into woodworking, I’ll have more to say about The Anarchist’s Workbench. Until then, it’s enough to know that this was the first full treatise on the subject that I read, and I thought it was excellent.
