Quantum

Time is not silent: The clack of keyboard keys, the pound of
drums, the bubbles that break the surface of a boiling pot,
the wind that passes through the pines, the birds that call
each morning, the groan of wood heated by the last rays of
summer sun, the thrum of the refrigerator as its compressor
dies, the murmur of a neighbor’s television long into the
night, the drone of overhead fluorescent lights, the spatter of
fall’s first rain on the windshield of a parked car, the buzz
of a wasp as it wonders what winter is like, the coruscating
siren that races to save a life, the words trapped inside my
head.

Even the deaf can feel these vibrations.
